Dr. Jane Machira

Dr. Jane Wangui Machira is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist with a passion for fertility treatment.

She is the co-founder of Gynacare and also works as a specialist Obstetrician/Gynecologist at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

With over 10 years of experience in reproductive health, Dr. Machira is an authority in the areas of contraception, pre-natal care, child delivery, STD treatment and related surgical procedures.

She has also lectured at various institutions, including Kenyatta University’s School of Medicine and is currently an Obstetrics and Gynecology Lecturer at the University of Nairobi’s School of Medicine.

Dr. Machira holds a Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery and a Masters of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Nairobi. She has done extensive training both locally and abroad in the areas of gynecology, fertility and laparoscopic surgeries, having attended training in infertility medicine in Gujarat, India and the International School of Medicine in Kiel, Germany, among others.

She is certified by the Kenya Medical and Practitioners Board and is a member of the Kenya Obstetrics and Gynecology Society. She is also a member of the Infertility Committee at KNH, where she is currently involved in setting up an assisted reproductive department that will provide intrauterine insemination (IUI) and IVF services.
